JRG Energy Clean Water Management

Clean Water Management

Water is our most precious natural resource. It covers about 70% of the Earth’s surface, however, less than 1% is available for human use, making it a finite resource and a valuable commodity. Access to clean water is a growing problem around the world.

The water crisis has created a need for sustainable water management. Conservation and reuse programs are key components of water management systems. There is a sense of urgency around water security, conservation, access, infrastructure, and sustainability.  Everyone from activists to governments is working to develop solutions to help the world’s water crisis.

Technologies, such as energy-efficient desalination plants, are being developed and deployed to help increase access to clean water around the world.

DESALINATION

Visit our sister company, Magnuvis, to learn more about combined renewable energy generation and desalination.

Our team has been engineering ways to implement geothermal desalination units in various areas of the world affected by water scarcity.

JRG Energy has developed a set of criteria for identifying locations that are prospective to geothermal desalination and has prepared a probability map that overlays areas of geothermal potential, water shortage, and geopolitical factors.

The map is used to identify and quantify areas that pose a high likelihood of successfully implementing geothermal desalination plants.

JRG Energy has presented this paper at the International Desalination Association's World Congress in Dubai and the National Geothermal Association of the Philippines and presented a virtual update on this project at the World Geothermal Congress in 2020+1. More info is available upon request.
