Feasibility and Detailed Feasibility for Large Industrial Gas User

Australia

Pre-feasibility study for the installation of a direct use geothermal heating solution at a large industrial facility in Western Australia. JRG Energy has completed a preliminary feasibility study for a large industrial facility in Western Australia. Results indicated that the target geothermal reservoir is anticipated to be hot enough, shallow enough and permeable enough. A conceptual design for 11 MW project was put together to offset 55% of the current gas demand and a 40% reduction of CO2 emissions (8500 tons). if the project processes to implementation this would become Australia's largest direct-use project. JRG Energy is currently working on the detailed feasibility study and is supporting the client in its application for funding with ARENA (the Australian Renewable Energy agency).

Sub-surface Reservoir Modelling in France

Sub-Surface Reservoir Modelling

France

JRG Energy has developed a semi-regional reservoir model to assess the feasibility of future geothermal wells and enhance the management of existing assets. This project is a sub-surface reservoir modelling to enhance geothermal efficiency in France. This project provides valuable insights for long-term geothermal resource optimization through advanced geological and reservoir modeling.

Key Project Highlights:

  • Geological Model Development – Created using Leapfrog, based on an existing Petrel model, to refine subsurface understanding.

  • Data Review & Analysis – Evaluated geoscience data and production records to inform accurate modeling.

  • Reservoir Simulation with Waiwera – Integrated 40+ years of historical production/injection data to develop a robust reservoir model.

  • Predictive Simulations – Ran advanced simulations to assess the viability and performance of potential future geothermal wells.

Through this initiative, JRG Energy delivers data-driven solutions to optimize geothermal resource utilization, ensuring efficient and sustainable energy development.

Geophysical 3D Modelling for Geothermal Exploration using Magnetotelluric and Gravity Data and Interpretation

Alaska

JRG Energy was contracted by IGNIS Energy, a company primarily involved in energy production, distribution and management, to develop a combined Magnetotelluric (MT) and gravity 3D inversion model designed to identify and interpret subsurface geothermal features in Alaska.  Some of the beneficial reasons for developing 3D Magnetotelluric /Gravity Inversion to geothermal projects include improved subsurface imaging, complementary data integration, increased accuracy in reservoir characterization, cost and time efficiency, and enhanced exploration and development.

This integrated approach delivered IGNIS Energy with a comprehensive understanding of the geothermal potential in the study area, empowering informed decision-making for subsequent exploration and development efforts.
